The Veterans Memorial Building was built in 1925, and has been a central gathering spot for veterans, seniors and the community over the course of its existence.
In 2012, the building was renovated and expanded, adding a senior center wing and a large community gathering space. During the renovation, an effort was made to preserve as much of the historic building exterior as possible. As part of that effort, the original trim band was painted but not replaced. The band is a horizontal wooden molding that wraps around the building. Due to weathering, the band has now deteriorated to the point where it needs replacing.
The current project is replacing the band, and doing minor repairs to the stucco and painting.
